Analyst

As an Analyst, you will perform a supporting role on client engagements, working closely with clients to understand key business issues and translate them into business and financial models. Other duties:

• Develop comprehensive financial models to evaluate individual R&D initiatives and R&D portfolios
• Participate in implementations of the Enrich Portfolio System (EPS) software
• Help clients understand and incorporate market and development risk in their analysis of strategic alternatives
• Conduct training sessions on the EPS and decision analysis
• Develop and summarize insights for communicating to clients

Qualifications:

• BA or MS in Operations Research, Applied Math, Physics, Engineering, Economics or related field
• 0-3 years relevant work experience
• Excellent analytical and computer skills
• Proficiency modeling with Excel spreadsheets
• Very strong oral and written communication skills
• Desire for a high level of responsibility and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Enjoy explaining/teaching concepts to others
• Ability to quickly learn new skills and methodologies
• Desire to work in a team-oriented, informal, small company environment
• Willingness to travel up to 30%
• Willingness to relocate to the San Francisco / South Bay area

Preferred:

• Experience creating financial models for R&D valuations and/or R&D portfolio management
• Understanding of financial statements and financial analysis
• Familiarity with decision modeling software such as Analytica, DPL, Crystal Ball, or enterprise data analysis applications
• Experience deploying analytic applications on the web
• Knowledge of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and/or high-technology industries
