Strategic Planning
In many organizations, the Strategic Planning process is completely separate from the Portfolio Management process. In reality, they are merely two sides of the same coin, with both processes focused on meeting the long-term strategic objectives of organization. Where they differ is in scope: While the levers in Portfolio Management are typically limited to the set of R&D projects in development, Strategic Planning takes a broader perspective.
This can include future projects expected to come out of research, licensing opportunities being pursued by Business Development, and potential mergers and acquisitions. Our collaborative tools help you integrate the Portfolio Management and Strategic Planning processes, increasing the value of each to the organization.
Forecasting
The heart of Strategic Planning relies on sound forecasts from both the Development and Commercial areas of the organization. Because the timeline for Strategic Planning may extend 10-20 years, these forecasts are fraught with a great deal of uncertainty.
Enrich's tools and methods enable this uncertainty to be explicitly captured and dealt with, and for sensitivity analysis to be performed to understand the impact of key estimates. In addition, "what-if" analysis gives you the ability to consider alternative scenarios and develop the appropriate contingency plans.
Gap Analysis
One of the most valuable components of Strategic Planning is the understanding of the gaps between current projections and the stated goals of the organization. Enrich's powerful reporting capabilities clearly identify these gaps,
enabling you to paint a clear picture of the challenges you face. In addition, we give you the ability to develop strategies for closing those gaps, and understanding the trade-offs among alternative courses of action.
